Creating Targeted Segments to Boost Campaign Performance

Audience Builder - Streamlined Fan Segmentation for Artists & Managers

We redesigned the audience segmentation tool to simplify the way artists and managers build and target fan groups, by criteria like location, engagement, and personal data. The refreshed tool features a dynamic, full‑screen canvas, real‑time group size feedback, and a global map to visualise fan distribution. Actionable prompts guide users through outreach, and future versions will introduce AI assisted queries like “What would you like to do today?

THE PROBLEM The prior version of Audience Builder was bulky and complex. Users found it difficult to create and manage fan segments efficiently. MY ROLE I collaborated with the product manager and C‑level stakeholders to lead the design reset—from discovery through prototyping and user testing. WHAT WE DID • Simplified the layout to focus on dynamic filtering and real‑time updates • Introduced a full‑screen canvas to maximise filter engagement • Added a global map for geographic insight, boosting clarity in segmentation • Included prompts to help users act on insights immediately • Designed mobile-responsive flow, ensuring usability across devices OUTCOMES • Testers praised it as a “massive improvement” on usability and speed • Real‑time feedback and visual cues improved segment creation efficiency • One of the few flow‑based tools adapted seamlessly for mobile • Positioned the platform well for future AI enhancements in segmentation
